Trimester 2 - PAWSitive CharacterBehaving in any setting is a learned skill – just like readin’, writin’, and ‘rithmatic.  PAWSitive Character is promoted at Hunt every day with every student.  We focus on nine key character traits based on the book “How Children Succeed: Grit, Curiosity, and the Hidden Power of Character” by Paul Tough.  The traits align with our three school rules – Show Respect, make Good Decisions, and Solve Problems.  They include: Grit, Self-Control, Zest, Social Intelligence, Gratitude, Optimism, and Curiosity.  At the Trimester 2 Assembly, over 120 students were recognized and presented with a certificate, keychain, and a photo opportunity.  Our Librarian, Mr. Huson, also recognized students for various accomplishments in our reading program like reading one million or more words, meeting their AR goals, and earning points.  He pointed out that on average, our students are reading 30 minutes per day outside of school.  The Hunt Chorus provided entertainment under the direction of Mrs. Knudson.  We are very proud of our Highlanders!
