Principal Update

Hello Highlander Families! We appreciate each of you and all you do every day to support teachers and students. We know you are working hard & thank you for your dedication! Here is the latest news from Hunt:

School Spirit Day

Friday October 30th will be our first school Spirit day, Superhero day, so dress as your favorite superhero! For students who attend in person on Tues/Thurs. Thursday the 29th will be your Superhero Day! Can't wait to see who your favorite Superhero is!

School Pictures

With students currently in remote learning mode, our school picture day will be postponed until students return to school. At this point, we are not sure when that will happen. Our photographer, Perler Photography, has created a great option for those of you that want or need school pictures now. It is safe, sanitized, and 1:1 with only your family. To book an appointment call 253.770.5672.

Any child age 0-18 is eligible to receive a free 5-day supply of breakfasts and lunches. Every school in the district hosts meal pickup on Mondays from 11-12. The next pickup is on Monday, October 26th. Monday evening pickups are available by calling Food Service at 253.841.8773.

On Tuesday, November 3, voters in Puyallup School District will be asked to consider an Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) Supplemental Levy that would generate a maximum amount of $37 million over two years to help sustain school district operations.

The Puyallup School District is facing a significant budget deficit of $39.6 million over the next three years. Although the District has recently made significant administration and department reductions, the current school year alone has a $20 million deficit. This supplemental levy will help to minimize, not eliminate, the impact of our budget deficit.

At the Levy Informational Town Hall Oct. 21, information was shared with members of the community explaining why there is such a large deficit, levy costs, and the impact of COVID-19 on schools.  Read more …
