Part of the ASCA National Model is delivering classroom curriculum. I do this in two different settings; the classroom and small groups.
Classroom guidance:
I teach the Second Step Bullying Prevention Unit to each and every class at Hunt. The lessons consist of scenarios that help students to recognize bullying when it happens, how to refuse bullying for themselves or others, and how to report bullying. The unit has four lessons each, that are taught weekly in the students' classroom.
I am also available to teach classroom lessons on other topics. Topics may include sleep hygiene, gossip/rumors, positive communication, and college career readiness.
Small Groups:
There are times when students may benefit from small group instruction in areas of social, study, and coping skills. Small groups are made up of no more than 5 students of similar grade level. Small groups typically meet during recess/enrichment once per week.
